NIMA Entertainment produces memorable events
like Queenstown's most popular show
STARRY EYED
So what is STARRY EYED? The best show in town…
STARRY EYED is an event which emphasises the talents and achievements of locals.
Based on the British TV series, “Stars In Their Eyes”, we achieve the same high standard of professionalism in our staging, presentation, quality of sound, musicianship and glamour for the audience. STARRY EYED is the one show locals choose not to miss, in short, we are the "best show in town".
Super Large Screen Video Footage - the real thing.
By use of a large video screen, footage shows how successful the stars have become after STARRY EYED. It shows their progression within the musical industry since performing in the show. Some have been able to work internationally as professional musicians and develop musical programs and concerts here in Queenstown, writing and performing their own material. All have continued to become ambassadors for STARRY EYED.

The Songs - you’ll know them.
The backing tracks for the songs are duplicated identically to the original recording by professional musicians. Backing vocalists are coached to get the sound ‘just right’. On top of that, dancers and sophisticated lighting designs are added to make the whole experience spectacular.
Comedian celebrity hosts - the wild card
To add an edge each year, different comedians are chosen to host the performance. They have included the Humour Beasts - Jemaine Clement, (Flight Of The Conchords, Eagle vs Shark) and Taika Waititi (Two Cars, One Night, Boy); Emma Lange (writer and performer for the Topp Twins); Local funny man Mike Legge; Comedian/Columnist Raybon Kan; Wellington based comedians Toby Leach (Wheelers Luck) and Rob Makaroka (Naked Samoans).
The Passionate Director – internationally respected
New Yorker Margaret O’Hanlon is Director of STARRY EYED. Margaret has earned the highest respect as a singer/comedian locally, nationally and internationally. Starting her career in New York’s Greenwich Village circuit, she is employed regularly in the conference and functions market and is an established vocal tutor and creator of the Singers Workshop. She has directed many shows but STARRY EYED remains her passion.
The Media - they love us!
Starry Eyed is enjoyed by the media, easily picking up front-page photographs in all the local weeklies, and regional daily’s over a ten-week period. Regional radio stations hype the event with interviews, quizzes, give-aways and quirky jingles. In addition we pick up national coverage in monthly magazines, on National Radio and features on TV3’s Nightline.
Ticket Sales – sell out!
The show is a proven to be a sell-out event with an audience of over 2500 viewers (approx. 20% of the population) each year over 5 nights, plus a matinee staged at the Queenstown Memorial Hall - the largest venue in central Queenstown.
